About SPG Research Group

Rigour for the decisions that govern everything else

SPG Research Group is a bilingual advisory practice based in New Brunswick, working with boards, executive teams, and public institutions across Atlantic Canada and beyond. The practice exists for one reason: most organizations now have frameworks for their systems, their processes, and their technology, and almost none have equivalent rigour for the human layer that governs them: how boards oversee, how executives decide, and how leadership capability is identified and developed.

Every tool on this site is built from that conviction. The assessments measure how people actually govern and decide, not how they intend to. The advisory engagements evaluate and report with full independence: SPG does not sell implementation services, so its findings are never a sales channel for its own follow-on work.

The founder

Pablo Montreuil is the founder and senior advisor of SPG Research Group. His work spans strategic planning, governance, organizational transformation, workforce development, and applied research, with a focus on translating long-horizon strategic intent into operational architecture that organizations can actually run. He works in French and English, and builds every SPG instrument in both languages.

He is the author of SPG's research frameworks, including the Strategic Intelligence Architecture (SIA), the CAREDOL engagement framework, and the Continuum-Based Governance Architecture that underpins SPG's board governance audits, and he publishes Intelligence Atlantique, a weekly bilingual intelligence briefing on AI governance for Atlantic Canadian boards and leaders.
